  • 11/02: Updated version of project description with sample test cases is uploaded.
    • Programming Project

    • Please note the followings:
    • Assume that the user input for resolving DNS request is case insensitive
    • Only new records should be cached on the "mapping.log" file
    • We assume that the prefix "www" should not cause a DNS request not to be resolved. For example, look at the request for trafficcontrol.gov in client PC1

  • 11/07: Homework 3 has been published and will be due on Nov. 14th.

  • 11/10: Programming project submission is opened on canvas.

  • 11/10: The file "user_input" in the programming project is for the test sequence of the sample test cases. The updated file "server.dat" can be found in the followling link. Note that the IP addresses and ports in the file are for reference only. The old "server.dat" file was assuming that the DNS servers are in the local network with different IP addresses. However, when testing you can use the updated IP addresses for simplicity.

  • 11/13: A revised version of Homework 3 has been published and will still be due on Nov. 14th.

  • 11/13: Midterm solution is uploaded.

  • 11/15: An updated version of midterm solution with figures for question 7 and 8 is uploaded.

  • 11/19: Programming project has been updated with the corrected log file.

  • 11/19: The solution to midterm question two has been corrected and uploaded.

  • 11/20: The deadline of programming project phase 2 has been extended to next Wednesday (11/28) 11:55 p.m.
