• November 21st, 2018: The solution set for this semester's second midterm is now available here.
• November 14th, 2018: The sample solutions for the 2016 sample midterm 2 are available here.
• November 12th, 2018: A sample midterm 2 from 2016 is available here. But because the schedule is different this year, several questions from the previously-posted midterm 1s are also relevant to our midterm 2.
• October 12th, 2018: The solution set for this semester's first midterm is now available here. Also, the due date for Exercise Set 2 has been delayed until Wednesday, October 17th (still in class).
• October 5th, 2018: The solution sets corresponding to the below-mentioned 2015 and 2016 midterms are available here (2015) and here (2016).
• October 3rd, 2018: For your use in studying for the first midterm, we have posted samples of previous midterms from 2015 and 2016 offerings of the course. Note however that these are not exact models for this semester's midterm: our first midterm won't include material about how arrays and structures are laid out in memory, but will cover more about C. Also the 2015 midterm used 32-bit x86, instead of 64-bit. We'll post corresponding sample solutions on Friday.
• September 21st, 2018: The due date for hands-on assignment 1 has been extended 24 hours to Tuesday night because of Thursday night's CSE Labs outage.
• September 11th, 2018: My (Jon Brenner) office hours today from 4:40-5:40 will be cut short due to a time conflict. I will be there until around 5:10 depending on how busy it is. Please email me if you were planning on coming during the latter half and need me to stay the whole time. My office hours will be at a different time starting next week, and will be updated on on the course site by the end of the week.
• September 3rd, 2018: There will be lab sections in the first week, on Wednesday September 5th, even though they fall before the first lecture. Instructions for the lab activities can be found under the "Labs" page accessible from a link on the left.
• August 28th, 2018: We recommend, though do not require, that you get a paper edition of the required textbook. This is because tests will be open-book but not allow electronics.
• August 28th, 2018: Course webpage launched. Welcome to 2021 for fall 2018. This web page is for the 010 lecture section, i.e. the 3:35 lecture taught by Prof. Stephen McCamant. Watch for more material appearing here between now and the first day of classes on Wednesday September 5th.
