4/3: The instructions and VMs for hands-on assignment 2 are now available on the assignments page.

3/25: A vulnerability has been found in BCMTA version 1.2. We've now released version 1.3, ready for you to find and exploit more bugs. The due date for this last bonus exploits in HA1 has been moved to this Friday 3/29.

3/22: Due in part to the unexpectedly long downtime of the CSE Labs machines, the bonus week deadline for HA1 will be delayed.

3/11: A vulnerability has been found in BCMTA version 1.1. We've now released version 1.2, ready for you to find and exploit more bugs.

3/5: A vulnerability has been found in BCMTA version 1.0. We've now released version 1.1, ready for you to find and exploit more bugs. See the Assignments page for updated source code and instructions for copying it into your VM.

2/27: BCMTA version 1.0 source code and the instructions for hands-on assignment 1 have been posted on the assignments page.

2/19: A pre-release of the BCMTA source code, version 0.9, is now available on the assignments page. Though the VMs and full instructions for HA1 are not ready yet, you can start looking for vulnerabilities in this code now. Also please register for your VMs if you haven't already.

2/13: An updated version of exercise set 1 has been posted, correcting question 5(a) which asked for a value that was not possible using the suggested technique. Because we noticed this problem late, we will also accept correct answers to the original problem.

1/28: In accord with the campus-wide decision due to cold weather, the lecture normally scheduled for Tuesday, January 29th is cancelled. Also, because of this and other delays, the start of hands-on assignment 1 will also be postponed; expect an update about it on Thursday.

1/18: Look for more material appearing on the page between now and the first class on January 22nd.
